About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial  I used the fabulous layered tube
“Perk Me Up” from pack 54 by
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube from

The kit is called “Stolen Kisses” by
This gorgeous kit can also be found at

You will also need a mask, I used Big Mask 017 by
Vix.

I used the font

This tag is best saved on a white background.

If this is the first tutorial of mine you have followed, please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 650 pixels and fill with white.

Copy pp2, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 95%, duplicate and merge the top copy down onto the original copy.

Paste element 24 as a new layer, resize 70% and rotate 90 degrees in either direction.  Select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10 and make a new layer below the element, copy pp1 and paste it into the selection, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and merge it down onto the paper.

Paste your tube as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 70%.

Paste el29 as a new layer, resize 70%, drag below the merged layer and position top, left, duplicate, move the duplicate down and to the right, erase the parts the overlap and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste el7 as a new layer, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste el16 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and change the blend mode to “Overlay”.

Paste el17 as a new layer and drag above the merged layer, resize 70%, flip, rotate 10 degrees to the left and position on the left.  Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and move it over to the right. Apply the drop shadow to both layers.  I re-coloured this element black.

Paste el1 as a new layer, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste el11 as a new layer, resize 40% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste el18 as a new layer, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste el2 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste el21 as a new layer, resize 45% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 30 as a new layer, resize 60% and place in position.

Paste el31 as a new layer and bring to the top, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments, when you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg on a white background.

    1. I tried to reply to your email address but the mail bounced. This tutorial uses a pay to use kit from Crazy Carita, it can be purchased at Barbara Jensens store :)
