About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the fabulous new layered bonus tube
“Little Ballerina” by
 Barbara Jensen.
This beautiful tube is free with a tube purchase of $10 or more from
running until midnight on 5th March.
The kit, also called “Little Ballerina” is by
This gorgeous kit complements the tube perfectly and can also be found at

You will need the free filter “Metal Peacocks” from
( Gallery E).

You will also need a mask, I used mask 84 by

Font of choice.

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page if this is the first tutorial of mine you have followed, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Copy pp1, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 110%.

Paste element 3 as a new layer, resize 75%,  rotate 90 degees to the right and place in position.  Select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20 and make a new layer below it, copy pp3 and paste it into the selection, deselect.  We will come back to this.

Paste element 7 as a new layer, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste your tube as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 60%.

Paste element 30 as a new layer, resize 60%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 5 as a new layer, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28 as a new layer, resize 55%, drag below elements 30 and 5 and position on the left, duplicate and position the duplicate on the right, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 21 as a new layer, resize 60%, rotate 70 degrees to the left and position on the left, duplicate, drag the duplicate down below the roses and move over to the right, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 15 as a new layer above the roses, resize 50% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13 as a new layer, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow,

Paste element 12 as a new layer, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29 as a new layer, resize 35% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Paste your tube again, drag down below the frame and resize as needed, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, position on either side of the main tube and merge the top copy down onto the bottom copy.  Select the interior of the frame and expand the selection a before, invert the selection and hit delete on the merged layer. Apply the Metal Peacocks filter on the tube (you can move the sliders about if you want to change how the effect looks on your tube) and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Paste element 20 as a new layer, resize 20% and rotate 20 degrees in either direction, duplicate, mirrror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
