About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful tube
“Peach Cobbler”  from pack 48 by
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube from

I used a gorgeous kit called “Vintage Charm” by
This kit is also available at

You will also need a mask, I used big mask 017 by
Vix.

I used the font

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting if this is the first tutorial of mine you have followed.

Unless otherwise noted in the tutorial, I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 80, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 650 pixels and fill with white.

Open and copy pp2, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Duplicate and merge the top copy down onto the original copy.

Open el8 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 110%, move up and to the left, duplicate, change the blend mode on the duplicate to “Hard Light” and then merge it down onto the original copy.

Open el7 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45% and rotate 20 degrees to the right.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10 and make a new layer below it.  Open and copy pp10 and paste it into the selection, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and place in position.

Open el3 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50% and rotate 10 degrees to the left.  Again, select the interior with your magic wand, expand as before and make a new layer below it.  Open and copy pp9 and paste into the selection, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow and merge down as before and place in position.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using one of Barbara’s layered tubes, duplicate it and close the original, pick your layers and copy merged.  I resized my tube 70%.

Open el1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, drag below the two merged layers, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el2 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el4 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45% and position on the top, right hand stamp.  Duplicate and position the duplicate on the bottom, left hand stamp (I erased a few that where too far out).  Apply the drop shadow to both layers but changing the vertical and horizontal to 2 and blur to 5.

Open el28, paste as a new layer and drag up above the merged layers.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow (remember to change the settings back).

Open el27 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75% and rotate 50 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow changing the settings back to the ones you used on el4.

Open el12 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow (change the settings back to the original ones).

Open el17 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%, position on the right of the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Open el18 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45% and rotate 80 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el23, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 80% and rotate 80 degrees to the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and place both layers into position erasing the long pieces that overlap.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el21 and paste as a new layer.  Flip, resize 60% and position on the left.  Duplicate, move the duplicate over to the right and erase the long piece on the left that sticks up.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el5 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45% and position on the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and move over to the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Paste el17 on your canvas again, resize it 40% as before and mirror it, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el16 an paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el9 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el6 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 50% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el22 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%, place in position, apply the drop shadow and erase some so it looks like it is going through the ring.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export as a png on a transparent background.
