About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “Vikki” by Verymany.
My license for this tube is with

but the tube is now available at

The kit is called “A Little Goes a Long Way” by
This beautiful kit has been revised
with additional elements and papers and
some beautiful free clusters.
The kit is available at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 565 by

I used the font
by Jellyka.

Please check my “About my tutorials” page if this is the first of my tutorials you have followed, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 10, opacity 80, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Open and copy Paper 11-GI_ALGALW.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 95%.

Open Frame1-GI_ALGALW, paste as a new layer and resize 50%.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20 and make a new layer below it.  Open and copy Paper2-GI_ALGALW and paste it into the selection, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and move it into position.

Open Frame 4-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%,  rotate 10 degrees to the left and place roughly in position, we will come back to this later.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.   I resized my tube 40%.

Open Branch-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Mesh-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60% and rotate 20 degrees to the left and position on the left, duplicate and move the duplicate over to the right erasing the parts that overlap with the join behind the tube.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open Berries-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open BirdHouse-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Book-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open WordArt2-GI_ALGALW, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 75% and place in position.

Check your layers now and make any necessary adjustments.

Go back to frame 4, select the interior of it with your magic wand, expand the selection by 4 and make a new layer below it.  Open and copy Paper1-GI_ALGALW and paste it into the selection. Open your tube again, mirror it, paste as a new layer and position in the frame resizing as needed, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and change the blend mode on the tube to “Hard Light”.  I resized the tube 65% this time.

Open Flowers-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Squirrel-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Corn-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.  Drag above the book, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open RedApple-GI_ALGALW, paste as a new layer and drag above the tube.   Resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Grapes-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Pom2-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Leaf1-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Ribbon1-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Acorn-GI_ALGALW, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow,

Open Lantern-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Bow1-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Bird-GI_ALGALW and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
