About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of
Rachel Anderson.
You need a license to use Rachel’s art,
available at

I used a really beautiful kit called “Sweet Dreams” by
The kit can be purchased at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 84 by

I used the font

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page if this is the first of my tutorials that you have followed, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 60, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Open and copy pd13-pp-04, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Duplicate and merge the duplicate down onto the original copy.

Open pd13-frame-02 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 80% and move up a little.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10 and make a new layer below it.   Open and copy pd13-pp-07 and paste it into the selection, deselect.  We will come back to this later.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed and place in position.  Don’t apply the shadow to her yet as we will come back to this later.  I resized my tube 70%.

Open pd13-book-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 85%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd13-moon and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70%, drag below the frame and paper layers and place in position.

Open pd13-flower-06, paste as a new layer and drag up above the frame.   Resize 70%, place in position on the left of the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd13-clock and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd13-flower-01 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd13-star-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd13-mesh-netting and paste as  a new layer.  Resize 80% and rotate 90 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd13-mushrooms and paste as a new layer.    Resize 80%, drag below the netting and position on the left of the tube.  Duplicate, erase the smallest mushroom on the right and position on the right of the tube.  Erase any mushrooms that overlap and apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open pd13-flower-01 again and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd13-ribbon-01 and paste as a new layer.   Flip, rotate 25 degrees to the left, resize 60% and position on the right, duplicate, move the duplicate over to the left again erasing any parts that overlap and apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Paste your tube as a new layer again, drag it down between the frame and the paper, resize if needed and position on the right of the main tube.  Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.  Select the interior of the frame again and expand the selection as before, invert it and hit delete on both tubes to remove the excess, deselect.  Set the blend mode on the tubes to “Soft Light” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Now go back to your main tube and duplicate it.   Drag this duplicate copy below the book and apply the drop shadow to it.  Go back to the copy above the book and erase the part that is over the sparkles on the book to bring them to the front.   Apply the drop shadow to this layer making sure “Shadow on a new layer” is checked, then erase all of the shadow apart from the small amount along the bottom of her dress.

Open pd13-star-02 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd13-light-03, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 70% and place in position.

When you are done, crop your tag (be careful not to crop into the moon, check it on a dark background), add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
