About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the fabulous new bonus tube
“Midnight Wedding” by
Barbara Jensen.
This gorgeous tube is free
when you spend $10 on tubes before
midnight on 7th December at

The matching kit, also called “Midnight Wedding”,  is by
and is totally awesome!
The kit is also available at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 187 by

I used the font

If this is the first tutorial of mine that you have followed, please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 625 pixels and fill with white.

Open and copy pp5, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection and apply the mask.  Do not deselect.

Open and copy pp9, make another layer on your canvas and paste this paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Change the blend mode to hard light, close off the bottom white layer, merge visible and resize 95%, re-open the closed layer.

Open element 7 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65%, select the interior with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20.  Open pp8 and paste it as a new layer below the frame, resize also 65% and position in the frame so a lot of the red is showing, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess paper, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and place in position.  You should have something like this now.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using one of Barbara’s layered tubes, duplicate it and close the original, pick your layers and merge visible.  I resized my tube 70%.

Open element 4 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45% and rotate 10 degrees to the left.  Drag below the tube and place in position. Select the interior with your magic wand and expand the selection as before, make a new layer below it and fill with black.  Open your tube, duplicate it and close the original, mirror it and then copy and paste it as a new layer and position inside the element resizing as necessary, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess.  Lower the opacity on the tube to around 50 and apply the drop shadow to the frame.  I used the close up resized 60%.

Open element 2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, drag down so it’s just above the black frame, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open element 29 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open element 16 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, position on the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open element 14 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open element 24 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open element 19 and paste as a new layer.  Drag up until it’s just below the main tube, resize 40% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open element 13, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open element 22 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, mirror and rotate 65 degrees to the right, drag below element 17, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open element 3, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open element 17 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open element 10 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open element 18 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40% and rotate 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Open element 5 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60%, drag below the corset and position on the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open element 21, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 35%, place in position, apply the drop shadow and erase parts so it looks like they are hooped around the glass stem.

Go back to the main tube layer and draw an oblong selection around her hands, right click on the layer in your layers pallete and “Promote Selection to Layer”, deselect.  Bring this piece to the top and erase around the fingers so it looks like they are holding onto the element.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
