About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “Goth Glam” from
layered pack 30 by
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube at

I used a fun Halloween kit called “Bite Bit Bitten” by
The kit can also be found at

You will also need a mask,
I used Mask 1 from the Halloween 2010 set by
Vix.
You will find them under Hallowe'en in the Labels section.

I used the font

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page please if this is the first time you have followed one of my tutorials, thank you.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 625 pixels and fill with white.

Open pp5 and copy, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 85%.

Open el3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, move over to the left and apply the drop shadow.

Open el10, paste as a new layer and resize 85%.  Select the interior of the green and purple sections of the element and expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the frame, copy pp5 again and paste it into the selection, deselect.  Now select the interior of the orange section, expand it as before, make a new layer below it and fill with black.  Open your tube or the close up if you have one, paste as a new layer and, resizing as needed, position inside the selection, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.   Lower the opacity of the tube to around 50 and apply the drop shadow to the frame.  I used the close up tube resized 60%.  Close off your white background and mask layers, merge visible and then re-open the closed layers.

Open your main tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using one of Barbara’s layered tubes, duplicate it and close the original, pick your layers and copy merged.   I resized this tube 60% also.

Open el15 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75% and duplicate twice.  Place two flowers in position at the top and on the right below the merged layer and one above the merged layer on the left.  Apply the drop shadow to each layer.

Open el23 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, position below the left flower and apply the drop shadow.

Open el22 and paste as a new layer.  Resize also 45% and rotate 15 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el6 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el26 and paste as a new layer.  Drag up to just below the tube, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el29 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el16 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45% and position on the left, duplicate and move to the right,  apply the drop shadow to each.

Open el1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, drag down so it’s between your copies of el16, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el17 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, drag up to below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el20 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40% and rotate 140 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el25, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el2 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el24 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 27%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el7 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el8 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el21 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35% and duplicate.  Position one copy below the candle, mirror the second copy and then rotate it 90 degrees to the left, position on the left below the pumpkin.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
