About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “Sweet Tart” by
Barbara Jensen.
This tube is in pack 44 and you can purchase it from

I used a mouth watering kit “Sweet Apple Cider” by
The kit is also available at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 565 by

For the effect on the close up I used the free filter
Color Dot by Pentacom.
You can use a different effect such as blinds if you don't wish
to install this filter.

I also used
which is also free but again not essential.

I used the font

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 550 and fill with white.

Open pp1 and copy, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 98%.

Open el23 and paste as a new layer and don’t move it.  Duplicate it, flip the duplicate and merge it down onto the original layer.  Apply MuRa’s filter on the settings in my screenshot below, resize it 90% and apply the drop shadow. If you don’t have this filter, finish the tag and then just add the element duplicated a few times.

Open el7 and paste as new layer.  Resize 65%, move over to the right and apply the drop shadow, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and move to the left.  The frames will overlap but that won’t matter.

Open el30 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50% and move up, select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20 and make a new layer below it.  Open pp5, copy and paste into the selection, do not deselect.

Open your tube or the close up if you have one and paste on your canvas, resize as needed and position nicely in the element, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the element, change the blend mode to “Hard Light”, lower the opacity to around 70 and merge it down onto the paper, then apply Pentacom Color Dot filter changing the “Value” to 70 and leaving the rest of the settings as they are.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and merge it down onto the tube/paper layer.

Open el9 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, drag down below the merged layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el5 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 85%, position on the right and apply the drop shadow, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left.

Open el20 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50% and rotate 40 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el16 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open you tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place roughly in position and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using one of Barbara’s layered tubes, duplicate it and close the original, pick your layers and copy merged.  I resized my tube 80%.

Open el24 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, drag down below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el19 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el29 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el25 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el17 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65%, drag down below the apples, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el21,  paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 50% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el11 and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el13 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50% and position on the right, duplicate, resize the duplicate 80% and position on the left, apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el22 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, drag down below the orange flower on the right and position to the side of it, duplicate move the duplicate over to the left and drag it down below the ribbon.

Open el20 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70%, place in position behind the tube but drag it right down until it is just above the doiley layer, that’s el29.

Open el26 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 85% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and place on either side, apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el28 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 90% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el14 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75%, rotate 20 degrees to the left and position on the left, duplicate, move the duplicate over to the right and apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
