About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. In this tutorial I used the art of
Cris Ortega.
Cris kindly allows her art to be tubed and used
freely by PSP hobbyists.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.


Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 575 pixels and fill with white.

Open the paper Lucinda (42) and copy, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 90%.

Open Lucinda (29) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, position top, left and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (41) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (34) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, drag down below the umbrella, place in position and apply the drop shadow,.

Open Lucinda (32), paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 55%, position on the left and apply the drop shadow.

Open the tube and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65% and place in position. Go to Effects – Photo Effects – Retro Lab and apply changing the saturation to -30 and leaving  the rest of the settings as they are.  Apply the drop shadow.



Open Lucinda (147) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, drag down below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (100) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45% and place in position.   Select the interior with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20.  Open and copy the paper Lucinda (28), make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection.  Paste the tube again as a new layer, resize 90%, position it in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and change the blend mode on the tube to “Hard Light”.

Open Lucinda (139) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (54) and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 18%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I re-coloured this element.

Open Lucinda (64) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (129) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 18%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (86), paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 22%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (22) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (15) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (59) and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (92) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (149) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (112) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 22%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (26) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 25% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (61) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 22%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Lucinda (118) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 17%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

 Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Open Lucinda (132) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%, drag down to just above the mask and position on the left, duplicate and position the duplicate on the right.  I erased a few that were in the wrong place.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
