About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of
Amy Matthews.
You need a license to use Amy’s art.
This tube is from her new pack and is available at

I used a kit called “Cherry Pop” by
This mouth watering kit is packed full of
gorgeous elements and is available from any of
Vicki's stores.

You will need the free filter

You will also need a mask,
I used mask 241 by

I used the font

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting, thank you.

Unless otherwise noted, I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Open gemini_cherrypop-p8 and copy.   Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection and deselect, flip the paper and apply the mask.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and move up a little.  Select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10 and make a new layer below it.

Open gemini_cherrypop_p7 and copy, paste the paper into the selection and deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame, repeat the drop shadow changing the horizontal to -2 and then merge it down onto the paper.

Open gemini_cherrypop-e2 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 48%, drag down below the merged layer and position on the right.  Select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10 and make a new layer below it.

Open gemini-cherrypop-p8 again, copy and paste into the selection, do not deselect.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed and position inside the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  I used layer 2 of the tube resized 80%.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and to the tube (remember to change the settings back), change the blend mode on the tube to “Luminance (Legacy)” and merge it down onto the paper layer.  Now apply Pentacom “Color Dot” filter to the merged layer changing the “Value” to 50.  Merge the frame down onto the merged layer, duplicate it and mirror the duplicate.

Open your tube again, paste as a new layer and bring to the top, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I used the same layer 2 but this time resized 75%.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e14 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, drag down to just above the mask and position on the left hand side.  Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the right.   Duplicate the original layer again and rotate it 90 degrees to the right, position on the top left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the top right.  Apply the drop shadow to all layers.

Open gemini_cherrypop-E12 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35% and position in the centre of the two top layers of the flowers to fill the gap, apply the drop shadow.

Open lollipop, paste as a new layer and drag up to just below the main tube.   Mirror,  resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e19 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55% and position on the right, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left, apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e16 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%, again position on the right, duplicate, mirror, position on the left and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e7 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e11 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e61,  paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 70% and place in position.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e59 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e55 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55%, drag down below the car, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e45 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e5 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e40 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e29 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e28 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open gemini_cherrypop_e51 and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
