About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful art of Enamorte.
You need a license to use Enamorte’s art, available at

I used a kit called “Nostaliga” by
This gorgeous kit contains many more elements
than I have used in my tag and can be purchased at

You will need the
and also a background mask.
For the background I used mask 84 by

I used the font
which is the font used in the word art.

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Open the paper Nostalgia (45) and copy, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 105%.

Open Nostalgia (61) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Nostalgia (59) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 90%.

Open Nostalgia (74) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, drag down below the clock and position on the right, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open Nostalgia (40) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Nostalgia (95), paste as a new layer and drag up to just below the tube.   Resize 50% and rotate 90 degrees in either direction, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, position on either side and apply the drop shadow.

Open Nostalgia (47) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open feli_cu50_rose and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Nostalgia (24) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%. Place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Nostalgia (98) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75%, rotate 90 degrees to the right and position on the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the right erasing any parts that overlap and hiding the join behind the tube.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open Nostalgia (8) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Nostalgia (46) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place both elements into position and apply the drop shadow to both.

Open Nostalgia (26) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, rotate 90 degrees to the left and then flip, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Nostalgia (74) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Nostalgia (58) and paste as a new layer.   Resize 20% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Open your tube again or the close up if you have one, duplicate it and close the original.  Crop the tube around the head,  apply the 20/20 mask to it, paste it on your canvas and position on the clock resizing as needed and erasing any that goes over the frame, then lower the opacity to around 60.  I used the close up of my tube resized 90%.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text (I had the font on bold),  then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
