About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used another tube from the awesome
new pack 41 by Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube from

The fantastic kit is called “Flames of Love” is by
The kit can also be found at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 141 by

I used the front

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting the tutorial, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open pp7 and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Open el1b and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65% and move up and to the right a little.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using one of Barbara’s layered tubes, open it and close the original, pick your layer options and copy merged.  I resized my tube 75%.

Go back to el1b and select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 30, make a new layer below it and fill with black.

Open your tube again or the close up if you have one and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, position inside the element, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess tube, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and lower the opacity of the tube to around 50.   I used the close up which I rotated 90 degrees to the right and mirrored before pasting on my canvas, I then resized it 60%.

Open el7 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60%, drag down so its just above the mask and place in position so some of the leaves show on the left.  Duplicate twice, mirror one of the duplicates and place both into position.  Apply the drop shadow to each layer.

Open el4, paste as a new layer and bring up so it’s just below the tube.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el24 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el30 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el12b and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el12 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el19 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65% and duplicate.  Position just behind the tube  and erase the part of the duplicate that overlaps on the first copy.

Open el26 and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 70%, rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el18 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el28 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el17, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments, when you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
