About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

You will need Filter Factory “Metal Peacocks” filter
(its filter 10 in Gallery E).

You will also need a mask, I used mask 84 by

Font is Aka Dora.

Please check out my “About my tutorials” paste before starting the tutorial, thank you.

If you have Filters Unlimited installed, you will need to import the Metal Peacocks filter into it.  Check out my Tips and Tricks page if you need more info.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 575 and flood fill with white.

Open pd13-pp-03 and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 90%.

Open pd13-print-01 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 73% and rotate 20 degrees to the left.  Apply a  drop shadow of  vertical and horizontal 1, opacity 80 and blur 3.

Open pd13-flower-01 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 95%, place in position and apply the drop shadow but changing the vertical and horizontal to 2 and blur to 5.

Open pd13-star-02 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd13-frame-03 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55% and place in position.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 7, make a new layer below it, open pd13-pp03 again and copy, make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection, deselect.  We will come back to this.

Open pd13-clothflower and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd13-flower-02 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd13-star-01 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open the main tube and paste as a new layer.   Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Open the close up of the tube, paste as a new layer and drag down so its between the paper layer and the frame.  Select the interior of the frame again with your magic wand and expand the selection as before,  resize the tube 70% and position nicely in the frame, invert the selection, make sure the tube is activated and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.   Lower the opacity of the tube to 80 and merge it down onto the black layer then apply the Metal Peacocks filter with Tile Size set to 120, Offset set to 140 and Shading to 128 then apply the drop shadow to the frame.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
