About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful “Marina Collection” by
Zindy Nielsen and Creationz by Jo.
This collection comprises Zindy’s tube “Waiting for the Tide”
and the kit “Marina” by Jo.
This is a huge kit with 16 papers, 8 frames and 100 elements
so there is tons more in the kit than I have used on the tag.
The collection is currently discounted 25% at

You will also need a mask, I used Gems’ mask 228.

Font is Le Grand Saut Textural by Jellyka.

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting the tutorial, thank you.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 550 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open CBJ_MarinaP11 and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Open CBJ_MarinaPlants and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, move down a little and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_MarinaPlants2 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50% and move over to the left, duplicate and mirror.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open CBJ_MarinaHelm and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50% and place in position.  We will come back to this later.

Open CBJ_MarinaBarrel and paste as a new layer.   Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_MarinaLargeRope and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open the tube and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_MarinaWave and paste as a new layer.   Resize 80% and drag down so its just above the barrel  and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_MarinaOrchids and paste as a new layer.  Drag up so its just below the tube, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_MarinaFlow4 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBj_MarinaStarFish2 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 18%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_MarinaPaperFlower1 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 27%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_MarinaShellGroup and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBj_MarinaBottle3 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_MarinaRibbon2 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_MarinaShellBeads and paste as a new layer.   Resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBj_MarinaShell1 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 17%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Click on Helm to activate it and then click anywhere on your canvas outside of the element with your magic wand to make a selection, invert the selection and contract it by 20.

Open CBJ_MarinaP5 and copy, make a new layer below Helm and paste the paper into the selection, deselect.

Open CBj_MarinaPlants2 again and paste as a new layer.  Bring to the top and resize 25%, position in Helm and then drag down so its just below it and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_MarinaFishes and paste as a new layer.  Again bring to the top and resize 25%, position in Helm again and drag down as before and apply the drop shadow..  I re-coloured the fish all blue.

Open CBJ_MarinaPlant and paste as a new layer.  Bring to the top, resize 40% and drag down and position inside Helm as before and apply the drop shadow.

When you all done with your little scene inside Helm, apply the drop shadow to Helm.

Open CBJ_Marinabird and paste as  a new layer making sure it’s on the top.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CbJ_MarinaSeaGull and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_MarinaLightBurst and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 45% and place in position on the bottle.

When you are done, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
