About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful tube “Venus” from
Barbara Jensen’s latest pack 39.
You need a license to use Barbara’s art,
you can get yours from her store here.

The kit I used is called “Romantic Moment” by
This is a gorgeous kit it beautiful colours and is
also available from Barbara’s store.

You will also need a mask, I used Vix’ Big mask 019, here.

Font is Ammonite, here.

Remember to sharpen up your elements after resizing/rotating as otherwise they will look a little blurry; check out my tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pp3.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Open el15b and paste as a new layer, rotate 10 degrees to the left and apply the drop shadow.

Open el20 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror and apply the drop shadow.

Open el18b and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90% and position in the top, left hand corner, duplicate and move the duplicate down and to the right, apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el5 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65% and rotate 10 degrees to the right.

Open another of the papers and copy, I used pp4.  Select the interior of el5 with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20,  make a new layer below it, paste the paper into the selection and deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and merge it down onto the paper.

Open el14 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el17 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using one of Barbara’s layered tubes, duplicate it and close the original, choose your layer options and copy merged.  I resized my tube 80%.

Open el21 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el1b and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el16 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el19 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el6 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el13 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are done, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
