In this tutorial I
used the art of Zlata_M.
You need a license to
use this tube, available at
I used an awesome kit
made especially for the tube
called
"Yolanthe" by
The kit is also
available at Scraps and the City.
You will also need a
mask, I used HorsePlay's Pasture mask 10, here.
Font is Parisian, here.
Don't forget to sharpen up those elements after resizing as
otherwise they will be a little blurry; check out my Tips and Tricks page for
more info.
I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal
2, opacty 80, blur 5.
Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 550 pixels and flood
fill with white.
Open one of the papers and copy, I used
SkyScraps-YOLANTHE-PP3. Make a new
layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect
and apply the mask.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANTHE-E61 and paste as a new layer. Resize 55% and move up just a little.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANTE-PP4 and copy. Select the interior of each part of E61 with
your magic wand and expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the
element and paste the paper into the selection, deselect. We will return to this when we have more of
our elements in position.
Open the tube, select girl1 and paste as a new layer. Resize her 60%, place in position and apply
the drop shadow.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANTHE-E87 and paste as a new layer. Resize 45%, drag down until its just above
the mask, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANTHE-E48 and paste as a new layer. Resize also 45% and position towards the
bottom on the left. Duplicate and move
the duplicate over to the right. Apply
the drop shadow to both layers.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANTHE-E29 and paste as a new layer. Resize
75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANTHE-E40 and paste as a new layer. Drag up so its just below the tube, resize
75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANTHE-E20 and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%, place in position and apply the
drop shadow.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANTHE-E69 and paste as a new layer. Resize 35%, place in position and apply the
drop shadow.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANTHE-E15 and paste as a new layer. Resize 60%, place in position and apply the
drop shadow.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANTHE-E16 and paste as a new layer. Resize 60%, place in position and apply the
drop shadow.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANTHE-E13 and paste as a new layer. Resize 40%, place in position and apply the
drop shadow.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANTHE-E4 and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%, place in position and apply the
drop shadow.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANTHE-E82 and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%, place in position and apply the
drop shadow.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANTHE-E21 and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%, place in position and apply the
drop shadow.
Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary
adjustments.
Open the tube again and select close up 3. Paste as a new layer. Resize 65%. Drag down so its just below the
frame layer and position in the right hand part of the frame, invert the
selection and hit delete to remove the excess.
Open the tube again and this time select close up 2. Do the same with this close up as you did
with the last one but this time positioning it in the left hand part of the
frame. Apply the drop shadow to both
close ups and to the frame.
Open SkyScraps-YOLANDE-E80 and paste as a new layer. Make sure its above the frame, resize 80%
and change the blend mode to "Soft Light".
Once again, check the positions of your layers and make any
necessary adjustments. When you are
happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export
as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

In
this tutorial I used the fabulous art of Barbara Jensen.
You
need a license to use Barbara’s art.
This
tube comes from her latest pack 33 and you can get it here.
I
used a fabulous kit called “Just a Note” by
Gemini Creationz.
Love
this kit, some really lovely elements in it, thank you Vicki!
Check out Gemini Creationz blogspot here to see where you can
find her kits.
You
will also need a mask, I used Insatiable Dreams mask 565, here.
Font
is AL Boogie Woogie, here.
You will need to sharpen up your
elements after resizing as otherwise they will look a little blurry, check out
my Tips and Tricks page for more info. I
re-coloured a couple of the elements in my tag, again you will find info about re-colouring
on my Tips and Tricks page.
I used a drop shadow of vertical
and horizontal 5, opacity 70, blur 10 on most elements and will state in the
tutorial if its different.
Open a new transparent canvas 650
by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.
Open one of the papers and copy, I
used gemini_justanote_p4. Make a new
layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect
and apply the mask. Resize 85% and
mirror if you are using the same paper as me (I just wanted the slightly deeper
colour on the right).
Open your tube and paste as a new
layer, resize if needed, place roughly in position and apply the drop shadow. If you are using the same tube as me, open
it, duplicate and close the original, select your layers, copy merged and paste
on your tag, resize 80%.
Open gemini_justanote_e46 and paste
as a new layer. Resize 60%, drag down
below the tube and place in position.
Open another of the papers and copy,
I used the same paper I used for the mask.
Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the
selection by 10, make a new layer below it and paste the paper into the selection. Do not deselect.
Open your tube again or the close up
if you have one, paste as a new layer, resize as needed and position nicely in
the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess tube. Apply the drop shadow to the frame and lower the
opacity on the tube to around 80.
Open gemini_justanote_e24, paste as
a new layer and bring to the top. Mirror,
resize 80% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the
drop shadow.
Open gemini_justanote_e17 and paste
as a new layer. Resize 60%, drag down
below the tube and position so it shows on the left of her. Duplicate, move the
duplicate so some shows on the right and erase any that overlaps the original
layer on the left. Apply the drop shadow
to both layers.
Open gemini_justanote_e66 and paste
as a new layer. Resize 55%, place in
position on the left of the tube and erase any that shows on the right, apply
the drop shadow.
Open gemini_justanote_e27 and paste
as a new layer. Resize 40%, place in
position and apply the drop shadow.
Open gemini_justanote_e68 and paste
as a new layer. Resize 80%, drag down
below both music note layers, place in position, erase any of the stalk that
shows below the keyboard and apply the drop shadow.
Open gemini_justanote_e52 and paste
as a new layer. Resize 65%, place in position and apply the
drop shadow.
Check the positions of your layers
so far.
Open gemini_justanote_e73 and paste
as a new layer. Flip, resize 80%, drag
down so its just above the mask, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open gemini_justanote_e61 and paste
as a new layer. Resize 65% and position
so some shows on the top, left hand corner.
Duplicate and position the duplicate so it shows on the bottom, right
hand corner. Apply the drop shadow to
both layers.
Open gemini_justanote_25 and paste
as a new layer. Resize 70%. Draw an oblong selection around the lowest,
small clock, right click on that layer in your layers palette and “Promote
Selection to Layer”, deselect. Close the eye out
on this for the moment. Place the main
element into position and apply a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 1,
opacity 90, blur 3. Open up the promoted
clock and duplicate it, place both into position and apply the last drop shadow
to each.
Open gemini_justanote_e12 and paste
as a new layer. Resize 80%, drag down so
its just above the mask and place in position in the top, left hand
corner. Duplicate and position the
duplicate in the bottom, right hand corner.
Erase any that are too far out or in the wrong place and apply the drop shadow to each layer (remember to change it back).
Open gemini_justanote_e5, paste as
a new layer and bring to the top. Resize
50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open gemini_justanote_e15 and paste
as a new layer. Resize 40%, place in
position and apply a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur
5.
Again, check the positions of your
layers and make any necessary adjustments.
Open SkyScraps_MySparkles2 and
paste as a new layer. Resize 80% and drag down so its just above the keyboard,
place in position and erase any the top part of the sparkles that show above
the tube including her hand so it looks like they are wrapped around her.
Now go back to the music notes, the
one on the left of the tube. Draw an
oblong selection around the bottom part of the double cleff and hit
delete. Right click anywhere on your
canvas and “Paste as a New Layer”. The
part you deleted will paste as a new layer, bring it to the top and line the
two pieces back up.
When you done, crop your tag and
add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression
set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial,
if you have any questions, you can email me here. Don’t forget to send me your result, I love
to see them and include them in the gallery!
