About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of Delphine Demers.
You need a license to use Delphine's art,
available at CreativeDesign Outlet.

The kit I used was inspired by this tube which is 13-1 and is by
The kit is also available at Creative Design Outlet.

You will also need a mask, I used Gem's mask 22, here.

Font is 4 Stix DNA, here.

Don't forget to sharpen up those elements after resizing! This is essential for a good looking tag as otherwise they will be a little blurry; check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used Paper06_IBdemers131_Schnegge.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask. Resize 90%.

Open the tube, duplicate and close the original.  Go to Selections - Select All - Selections - Float - Selections _ Defloat - Selections - Modify - Feather.  Type in 30 for the Feather Amount, invert the selection and go to Edit - Cut. Do the Cut several times until the tube is feathered out, I did it about six times.  Deselect then copy the tube and paste it as a new layer on your canvas.  Resize it 75% and move a little to the left.

Open Frame01_IBdemers131_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55% and rotate 10 degrees to the right.  Move the frame over to the right and drag it down below the tube.

Open Paper04_IBDemers131_Schnegge and copy.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below it and paste the paper into the selection.  Do not deselect.

Open the tube again and paste as a new layer.  Resize the tube 60% and rotate it 10 degrees to the right, position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and the tube and lower the opacity of the tube to around 40.

Open Element13_IBdemers131_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%, position on the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open Element06_IBdemers131_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Drag down so its just above the mask and duplicate, resize the duplicate 70%, place both flowers into position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Open Element01_IBDemers131_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, move over to the left so a little shows to the side of the main tube and apply the drop shadow.

Open Element08_IBdemers131_Schnegge, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 70% and rotate 90 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Element03_IBdemers131_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Wordart_IBdemers131_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Element10_IBdemers131_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Element12_IBdemers131_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the position of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.  If you have any questions, please email me here and don't forget to send me your result, I love to see them and include them in the gallery!
