About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

I have again used the fantastic art of Barbara Jensen in this tutorial.
You need a license to use Barbara’s art,
I purchased mine here.

The kit I used is called “Eternal Twilight” by
I love Twilight kits! You can get it here.
Thank you Alika.

You will also need a mask, I used Insatiable Dreams mask 565, here.

Font is Buffied, here.

Remember to sharpen up your elements after resizing/rotating as it makes them a little blurry; check out my Tips and Trick page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 3, opacity 85, blur 7.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and floodfill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used aspaper11.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 75%.

Open as55 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%.

Open another of the papers and copy, this time I used aspaper12.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 15, make a new layer below it and paste the paper into the selection, deselect.  There is already a shadow on the frame so no need for another.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using one of Barbara’s tubes, duplicate and close the original, make your layer options then copy merged and paste on your tag.

Open as17 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open as77 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, drag down so its just above the mask layer and place in position.

Open as63 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open as45 and paste as a new layer.  Drag it up so its just below the tube, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open as67 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 20% and place in position.

Open as73 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and duplicate, place both flowers into position and apply the drop shadow to both.

Open as15 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open as69 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open as02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open as26 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open as20 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open as74 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open as14 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open as48 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and rotate 50 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments. When you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here. As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
