About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the amazing art of The Hunter.
You need a license to use The Hunter's art, available here.

The kit I have used is called "Sexyoween" by
This is a great kit, thank you Danielle!
You can get it here.
The kit can be purchased on its own or as part of a bundle
with two other of Skulliez' kits, Macabre and Monstrosity, at a
very much reduced price.

You will also need a mask, I used Insatiable Dreams mask 565, here.

I used the front Ammonite, here.

Remember to sharpen up those elements after resizing/rotating! Otherwise they will look a little blurry; you can check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 85, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_pp13.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection and apply the mask. Do not deselect. Resize 75%. Do not move the paper.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_pp21 and copy.  Make another layer on your canvas and paste this paper into the selection.  Again apply the mask and resize 75%, change the blend mode to "Overlay".  Close out the white background layer and merge visible, re-open the closed layer.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_frame and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75% and move over just a little to the left.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_pp13 again and copy.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below it and paste the paper into the selection.  Do not deselect.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_pp8 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess paper.  Do not deselect.

Open your tube, mirror, copy and paste as a new layer.  Resize as needed, position nicely in the frame and hit delete to remove the excess (I used the close up and resized it 50%).  Deselect. Apply the drop shadow to the frame and to the tube and  change the blend mode on both the tube and the newspaper paper layer to "Soft Light".

Open your main tube, undo the mirror if you need to and paste as a new layer, resize as needed (I resized 40%) place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_smudge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%, drag down so its just above the mask and place in position.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_swatch and paste as a new layer.  Duplicate and mirror the duplicate, position both layers so some shows on the left/top of the frame.  Duplicate the duplicate and move it down to the bottom, right.  Apply the drop shadow to all layers.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_chainlink and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_leaves and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 95% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_flower7 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_flower3 and paste as a new layer.  Drag up above the frame, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_heart and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_flower8 and paste as a new layer.  Place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_button2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_pearls and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Opendecorbitt_sexyoleen_heels and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open dcorbitt_sexyoleen_bow4 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Opendecorbitt_sexyoleen_spider and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments and when you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
