About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the
“I Believe BCA Collection” by
Zindy S.D. Nielsen and Creationz by Jo.
October is the international breast cancer awareness month
and Zindy has kindly donated all profit from this tube
to the Pink Ribbon Organization.
You can get this beautiful collection here.

You will also need a mask, I used Weescotslass’ mask 141, here.

Font is AL Dreamboat, here.

Remember to sharpen up those elements after resizing/rotating as otherwise they will look a little blurry; check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a soft drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 50, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 625 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used CBJ_BCAP1.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Open CBJ_BCAFrameWrp and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%.

Open another of the papers and copy, this time I used CBJ_BCAP12.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below it and paste the paper into the selection, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Open the tube and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 70% and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_BCAHrtStars and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, drag down so it’s just above the mask layer and place in position on the left of the frame.  Duplicate and move the duplicate over to the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.  You will see a lot more white stars when you apply the shadow, erase any that are too far out.

Open CBJ_BCAPlantDoodle and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_BCAIvy and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_BCABalloons and paste as a new layer.  Drag up above the frame, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_BCAScatterGems and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_BCAOrchids, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Flip, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_BCAHeart1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position an apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_BCARibbon and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_BCATime and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_BCABelieveBear and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_BCABeads and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_BCAFlower1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJ_BCADoodleFlutters and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are happy, crop your tag and add your name and copyright information, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
