About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used one of Barbara Jensen’s awesome tubes
called “Homemaid” from her latest pack 31
which can be purchased from her store, here.

The kit I used is called “Rose Tea with Rita”.
This is a beautiful, elegant kit by Crazy Carita
and can also be purchased from Barb’s store.
Absolutely love this kit, thank you Carita!

You will also need a mask, I used Monti’s circle mask, here.

I also used Filters Unlimited Photo Aging kit but this is not essential.

 Font is AL Dreamboat, here.

Remember to sharpen up your elements after resizing/rotating as otherwise they will look a little blurry; for more info check out my Tips and Tricks page.

Apart from the text, I used a deep, subtle shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 50, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pp10.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 85%.

Open el21 and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 60%, move over to the right and apply the drop shadow.

Open el8 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el23 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Now we will get our tube in position so we can work around her.  Open the tube, duplicate and close the original, make your layer selections, then copy merged and paste as a new layer on your canvas.  Resize as needed (I resized 80%) place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el20 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, drag down below the tube and place in position.  We will come back to this later.

Open el25 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el18 and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 75% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el14 and paste as a new layer.  Flip and resize 60%, place in position on the right hand side of the tube, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left of her, apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el16 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el15 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el17 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el4, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 50% and rotate 70 degrees to the left.  Place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el27 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el7 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 37%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Go back el20 (the frame) and click on it to activate it.  Select the interior with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20.  Open pp6 and copy, make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper in the selection. Do not deselect.

Open your tube again or the close up if you have one, I used the close up.  Paste as a new layer and resize as needed (I resized 70%), position nicely in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess tube, deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tube to “Luminance (Legacy)” and apply Filters Unlimited, Photo Aging Kit, Dust and Scratches clicking on Randomize until you find some nice scratches. I applied the effect twice.

When you are done, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here and don’t forget to send me your result, I love to see them and put them in the gallery!
