Halloweenish

In this tutorial I used the amazing art of Barbara Jensen.

You need a license to use Barbara’s art,
I purchased mine for this tube at Scraps and the City.

I used a kit called Halloweenish by SkyScraps.
This is an awesome kit with loads of elements, I loved it!
 Thank you Marie!
The kit is also available at Scraps and the City.

You will also need a mask, I used Gem’s mask 22, here.

Font is Face Your Fears, here.

Remember to sharpen up your elements after resizing/rotating as otherwise they will be a little blurry; check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open SkyScraps-Halloweenish-PP7 and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask. Resize 90%.

Open SkyScraps-Halloweenish-E64 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65% and move a little to the left.

Open the main tube, duplicate and close the original, choose your layer options, copy merged and paste as a new layer on your canvas.  Resize 75%,  place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Halloweenish-PP1 and copy.  Go back to E64, select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 5, make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection.  Do not deselect.

Open the close up of the tube, duplicate and close the original.  Make your layer selections, copy merged and paste as a new layer on your canvas.  Resize 80% and position inside the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess.  Change the blend mode on the tube to Soft Light and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Open SkyScraps-Halloweenish-E78 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, drag down so its just above the mask layer and position on the right hand side.  Duplicate and move the duplicate over so a little shows on the left then erase the rest of it.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open SkyScraps-Halloweenish-E47 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Halloweenish-E18 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Halloweenish-E9, paste as a new layer and drag up so its just below the main tube.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Halloweenish-E11 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Halloweenish-E10 and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Halloweenish-E73, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 60%, rotate 90 degrees to the left and then flip, place in position and apply the drop shadow,

Open SkySraps-Halloweenish-E27 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Halloweenish-E1 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Halloweenish-E17 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Halloweenish_E44 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Halloweenish_E14 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are happy, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here and don’t forget to send me your result, I love to see them and include them in the gallery!
