Sweet as Cake

In this tutorial I used the art of SkyScraps.
You need a license to use SkyScraps art,
Available here.

The kit I used is called “Sweet as Cake” by
TK Designz.

Unfortunately this kit is no longer available but I have left the
tut up for people that already have it or have a substitute.

You will also need a mask, I used Weescotslass mask 147, here.

Font is Ironik Rotis, here.

Remember to sharpen up your elements after resizing/rotating as otherwise they will be a little blurry; for more info check out my Tips and Tricks page.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70, blur 7.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open tk-sweetascake-paper7 and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection and apply the mask. Do not move the mask or deselect.

Open tk-sweetascake-paper4, make a new layer on your canvas, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and again apply the mask.  Set the blend mode on this mask layer to “Soft Light”, close of your white background layer and merge visible, re-open your background layer.

Open tk-sweetascake-frame3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55% and move over a little to the right.

Open tk-sweetascake_paper5 and copy.  Select the interior of both parts of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection.  Deselect and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Open tk-sweetascake-element 27 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 70% and rotate 25 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-sweetascake-element19 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer,  resize as needed (I resized my tube 50%), place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-sweetascake-element10 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, drag down below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-sweetascake-element11 and paste as a new layer. Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-sweetascake-element1, paste as a new layer and bring to the top. Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-sweetascake-element27 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-sweetascake-element8 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-sweetascake-element5 and paste as a new layer.  Flip, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-sweetascake-element2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-sweetascake-elenent15 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-sweetascake-element3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments, when you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compressions set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here and don’t forget to send me your result, I love to see them and include them in gallery!
