Seems Like Yesterday

In this tutorial I used the fabulous art of Barbara Jensen!
If you wish to use the same tube, you will need a license,
available here.

The kit I used is called “Seems Like Yesterday” by
This is a really beautiful nostalgic kit and contains a lot
more elements and colours than I have used.
Thank you Vicki!
You can get the kit here.

You will also need a mask, I used Weescotslass’ mask 241, here.

Font is Easy Street, here.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing/rotating. This is essential for a good looking tag. You can check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 500 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open gemini_seemslikeyesterday_p2 and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask. Resize 90%.

Open gemini_seemslikeyesterday_e1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and move up a bit.

Open gemini_seemslikeyesterday_p8 and copy.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection, deselect.

Open gemini_seemslikeyesterday_e6 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open gemini_seemslikeyesterday_e33 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow changing the vertical and horizontal 1 and blur to 3.

Open gemini_seemslikeyesterday_e8 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Duplicate your tube and mirror it, drag it down below the frame and place in position. Select the interior of the frame and expand the selection by 20, invert, activate the copy tube and hit delete to remove the excess then lower the opacity to around 55.  Apply the last drop shadow to the frame.

Crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
