About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of PinUp Toons.
You need a license to use this art.
I purchased my license from CILM but they
are now available here.

The kit I used is KG Artist Series 05 by
You can get the kit here.

You will also need Insatiable Dreams mask 229, here.

Font is Lifeline, here.

Remember to sharpen up those elements after resizing/rotating. If you are not familiar with this, check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 575 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open pd12-pp-01 and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 70%.

Open pd12-frame-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%.

Open pd12-pp-04 and copy.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 3, make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame.  Close off your white background layer and mask layer and merge visible, reopen the closed layers.

Open your tube, copy and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-band-aid and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, drag down below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-flower-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55% and duplicate, resize the duplicate 85%, place both flowers in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Open pd12-shot and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers, when you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
