About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of Martin Abel.
You need a license to use Martin’s art, available at

The kit I used was inspired by this tube 37-3 and is by
The kit is also available at Creative Design Outlet.

You will also need a mask, I used Gem’s mask 207, here.

Font is Rapscallion, here.

My usual reminder to you to sharpen up your elements after resizing/rotating.  Check out my Tips and Tricks page if you are not familiar with this.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 550 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open Paper05_IBma37-3_Schnegge and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 90%.

Open Frame02_IBma37-3_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 85%.

Open Paper02_IBma37-3_Schnegge and copy.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the frame, paste the paper into the selection and deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and merge it down onto the paper layer.

Open Ele11_IBma37-3_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, drag down below the merged layer and position on the left hand side.  Duplicate this layer and position the duplicate on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open Ele13_IBma37-3_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 60% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Ele14_IBma37-3 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube, paste as a new layer and bring to the top, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Eel09_IBma37-3_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 80%, drag down below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Ele03_IBma37-3_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Ele04_IBma37-3_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and rotate 13 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Ele15_IBma37-3_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, drag down below the ship, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Ele08_IBma37-3_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position, erase the legs that show below the ship and apply the drop shadow.

Open Ele05_IBma37-3_Schnegge, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are happy crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
