Seashell

In this tutorial I used the beautiful art of Amberly Berendson.
You need a license to use Amberly’s art,
available here.
The tube I have used was a recent bonus tube
called "Capricorn", it's stunning!

I used a freebie kit called “Seashell” by
Schnegge’s Scraps.
This is a lovely kit Schnegge gave to celebrate her birthday.
Thank you so much Schnegge, its gorgeous!
You can get it here.

You will also need a mask, I used Gem’s mask 181, here.

Font is Jellyka, le Grand Saut textural.
This is a free font, you can get it here.

As always my reminder to you to sharpen up your elements after resizing/rotating as otherwise they will be a little blurry.  Check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open p02_SeashellFTU_Schnegge and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 95%.

Open f01_SeashellFTU_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and apply the drop shadow. Move over slightly to the right.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed (I resized mine 80%), place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e12_SeashellFTU_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Drag down below the tube, Place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e-06_SeashellFTU_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 85% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e13_SeashellFTU_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  I re-coloured this element to match the gorgeous purple of my tube’s eyes (for help with re-colouring, check out my Tips and Tricks page).  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e01_SeashellFTU_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Again I re-coloured this element purple.  Resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e03_SeashellFTU_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e26_SeashellFTU_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e24_SeashellFTU_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Mirror and flip, resize 95%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e27_SeashellFTU_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e09_SeashellFTU_Schnegge, paste as a new layer and bring to the top. Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e32_SeashellFTU_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Open e17_SeashellFTU_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, drag right down until its just above the mask layer, place in position on the left hand side and apply the drop shadow.

Open e10_SeashellFTU_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, place in position so that just a tiny bit is showing at the bottom of the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Once again, check the positions of your layers and when you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information.

Pick two colours from your tube for your font and set the foreground to 1 and the size to 120.  Type out your name and pull/push on the vector nodes until you have it a nice size to fit in that space on the tag.  Covert to a raster layer and apply an inner bevel as in my screenshot below and then the drop shadow.

When you are done with your text, export your tag as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here and don’t forget to send me your result so I can include it in the gallery!
