About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I have again used the beautiful tube
Jessica Blood by
for which you need a license
and the Kit “Blood Thirsty” by
Both the tube and the kit are available at

This is the second tutorial I have written with this
tube and kit and the tags are very different as
there are so many elements in the kit to choose from and
there are still some left!
The only element I have used in both tags is the fog.

You will also need a mask, I used Insatiable Dreams mask 565, here.

The font is Charming, here.

My usual reminder to you to sharpen up your elements are resizing/rotating to take away the blurriness, you will find more info on my Tips and Tricks page.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85 and blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used 7, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 85%.

Open frame 2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and apply the drop shadow.

Open the tube and paste as a new layer, resize 60, erase the bottom section that is below the bottom of the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open Cross 1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, drag down below the tube and position on the top, left hand corner of the frame, apply the drop shadow.

Open Rose 2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Corset 2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Web 1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, drape over the corset and apply the drop shadow.

Open Fog and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and place in position.

Open Candle, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Boot 1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Blood Bag and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Clouds 1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, drag down below the boot and blood bag and place in position along the bottom of the frame, erase any that show on the outside of either the boot or the bag and apply the drop shadow.

Open Grass 1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Heart 5, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 35% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Spider 3 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30% and rotate 40 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Cocktail 1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Bottle 3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Open Blood Splatter 1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, drag right down until its just below the rose and position in the top, left hand corner.  Duplicate, mirror and flip the duplicate and move it down so just a few splashes show in the bottom, right hand corner.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open Hand Print 1 and paste as a new layer. Resize 55%, drag down so its just above the mask and position below the top, right hand corner of the frame, apply the drop shadow.

Open Moon 1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, drag up so its just below the corset and position on the top, right hand corner of the frame.

Open Light Ray, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Position so its shining out from the moon.

Have one last check on the positions of your layers, then crop your tag taking care not to crop into the moon (its larger than you think, add a dark layer at the bottom so you can see where to crop and then delete that layer after).  Add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here and don’t forget to send me your result!
