Red Riding

In this tutorial I used SkyScraps part of the awesome “Little Red” Collab
which features two fantastic kits by SkyScraps and Gemini Creationz.
You can purchase the kits together as the Collab or separately at

The tube I used is again by SkyScraps and is also called Little Red.
You need a license to use this tube, also available at Scraps and the City.

I used two masks in my tag, Gemsmask11 and Gemsmask 22,
you can get them here
(they are both in set 1).

Again I used the font Ammonite, here.

Don’t forget to sharpen up those elements after resizing/rotating!!!  Check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 85, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open SkyScraps-LittleRed-PP2 and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply Gemsmask22.  Resize 90%.

Make another new layer on your canvas and flood fill with a dark red, I used #630c0c.  Apply gemsmask11.  Resize 90% and move over a little to the right.

Open SkyScraps-LittleRed-E40 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and move over to the left.

Open SkyScraps_LittleRed-E53 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45% and move over to the right.

Open SkyScraps-LittleRed-PP5 and copy.  Select the interior of E53, the frame and expand the selection by 5, make a new layer below it and paste the paper into the selection, do not deselect.

Open your tube or close up if you have one and paste it as a new layer, resize as needed and position inside the frame.  If you are using the same tube as me, resize it 80%.  Invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess tube, deselect.  Lower the opacity of the tube to around 55 and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Open SkyScraps-LittleRed-E37 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, drag down below the frame/tube/paper layer and move over to the left.

Open SkyScraps-LittleRed-E41 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and place in position.  Your tag should look something like my screenshot below now.

Paste your main tube on now so you can see better where to position the rest of the elements and bring it to the top, resize as needed and apply the drop shadow.  I used the tube without the wolf and resized it 62%.

Open SkyScraps-LittleRed-E49, paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, drag it down below the main tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-LittleRed-E20 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and place in position.

Open SkyScraps-LittleRed-E10 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-LittleRed-E13 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 50%, drag it down below E10 and position so the wolf is peeking round from behind the tree.  Erase all but his head peaking out and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-LittleRed-E11 and paste as a new layer.  Drag it up so its just below the main tube.  Resize 70% and duplicate.  Rotate the original 10 degrees to the right and  place in position on the right of the tube.  Drag the duplicate down below the E20, rotate 10 degrees to the left and place in position towards the left.  Erase the stalks that show at the bottom and apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open SkyScraps-LittleRed-E51 and paste as a new layer.  Drag up if you need to so its just below the main tube, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Again I have very much enjoyed using this kit. If you have any questions, please email me here and don’t forget to send me your result so I can include it in the gallery!
