About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of Anna Marine.
You need a license to use Anna’s art.
I purchased mine from CILM but they are now available here.

The kit I used is called “My Vamp Love” by
This is a gorgeous kit perfect for your vampire tags!
You can get it here.

You will also need a mask, I used Insatiable Dreams mask 159, here.

Font I used is Mom’s Typwriter, here.
I used Alien Skin, Eye Candy 5, Impact, Glass on the font
but this is not essential.

Remember to sharpen up those elements after they have been resized/rotated; check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 650 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pd12-pp-07.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 90%.

Open pd12-frame-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%.

Open another of the papers and copy, this time I used pd12-pp-03.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection.  De-select.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed and position her coming out of the frame. Apply the drop shadow to both the tube and the frame layers.  Close off your white background and mask layers and merge visible, re-open the closed layers.

Open pd12-greens-02 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75%, mirror and rotate 15 degrees to the right, drag down below the merged layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-blood-03 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, drag down below the greens layer and position on the left hand side.  Duplicate a couple of times, rotate/mirror the duplicates and place in position.   Apply the drop shadow to each layer.

Open pd12-mesh-01, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 60% and place in position.  I didn’t put a shadow on this layer.

Open pd12-books and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-bottle-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, drag down below the books, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-flower-03 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-ribbon-03, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-damon-symbol and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-key and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and rotate also 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-flower-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments and then add your copyright information.

For the text, copy one of the blood layers and paste it as a new image.  With your oblong selection tool, make a small selection from the blood, copy it and paste it as a new layer.  Open your materials palette and find the pattern you just made, type your name using the pattern as the background with no foreground and apply Alien Skin, Eye Candy 5, Impact, Glass on the “Clear, No Drop Shadow” setting and then apply the drop shadow.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have an questions, please email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery.
