About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of Alicia Mujica.
You need a license to use Alicia’s art.
A license for this tube is available here.

The scrapkit I used is Schnegge’s Scraps part of the
amazing Tech Savvy Collab.
This collab is available free with a $10 purchase,
you can find out more about it here.

I used two masks, Monti’s circle mask here and
Weescotslass’s mask 80, here.

Font used is 256 Bytes, here.

You will need to sharpen your elements after resizing/rotating otherwise they will be a little blurry, for more information check out my Tips and Tricks page.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open Frame-3_TechSavvy_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90%.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used Paper07_TechSavvy_Schnegge.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 30, make a new layer below the frame layer, paste the paper into the selection and deselect. Apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open keyboard_TechSavvy_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open computer_TechSavvy_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open flower02_TechSavvy_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 60%, drag down below the computer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open ribbon02_TechSavvy_Schnegge, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 70%, mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pdaphone_TechSavvy_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  Duplicate your tube layer and resize so its really small and the face fits into the ‘phone screen.  With your oblong selection tool, feathering set to 0, draw a selection around the screen, invert it and hit delete to remove the excess tube.  Merge the tube down onto the ‘phone layer.

Open digicam_TechSavvy_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open mp3player_TechSavvy_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and rotate 90 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open butterfly03_TechSavvy_Schnegge and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35% and rotate 15 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Choose a lightish colour from your tube or from the elements, I used  #e8cbf5. Click on your white background layer to activate it, make a new layer and flood fill with your chosen colour.  Apply Monti’s circle mask.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used paper10_TechSavvy_Schnegge.  Make another new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask by Weescotslass.   Resize both masks 90%.

Check the positions of your layers and when you are happy, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here and don’t forget to send me your result so I can include it in the gallery!
