About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used an awecome collab comprising the art of  Misticheskaya
and a scrapkit called “Dalila” by SkyScraps.
You need a license to use Misticheskaya’s art.
The tube/license and the kit can be purchased separately or together in the collab here.

You will also need a mask.
I used HorsePlay’s Pasture’s mask 11, here.

Font of choice.

Remember that your elements will need sharpening after resizing/rotating.  This is essential for a good looking tag as otherwise they will be blurry.  Check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 550 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used SkyScraps-Dalila-pp4.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Open SkyScraps-Dalila-E31 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, move over very slightly to the right and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Dalila-E16 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%.  Select the interior of each part of the frame and expand the selection by 7.

Open another of the papers or use the same one as you did for the mask, I used pp4 again.  Make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection.  Do not deselect.

Open your tube and mirror it, copy and paste as a new layer.  Resize as needed and position inside the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess tube.  Apply the drop shadow to both the frame and the tube layers and lower the opacity on the tube to around 45.

Open SkyScraps-Dalila-E65 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and use your eraser to make them look like they hang from the interior of the top section of the frame. Apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube again, undo the mirror, copy and paste her as a new layer, resize and get her in position, apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Dalila-E49 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, drag down so its just above E31, position over to the left and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Dalila-E19, paste as a new layer and drag up until its just below the main tube.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Dalila-E36 and paste as a new layer.   Flip, resize 70%, place in position behind the tube, erase any stalks that show below the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Dalila-E20 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Dalila-E59 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90% and place in position.

Open SkyScraps-Dalila-E39, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments, when you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
