About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of Leilman.
You require a license to use Leilman’s art,
they are available here.

The scrapkit I used is Pimp’d Designz part of the
awesome collab “Tech Savvy”.
This is a huge collab made up of five kits from some awesome designers
and free on a $10 purchase at the store.
Check it out here.

You will also need a mask, I used Becky’s mask 038.
As Becky no longer has her site, I have uploaded the mask for you here.

Font used is Big Dots, here.

Remember to sharpen up those elements after resizing/rotating, check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pd12-pp-03.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 95%.

Open pd12-print-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 85% and rotate 40 degrees to the right, apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-notebook and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-frame-03 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below your frame layer and fill the selection with a dark grey, I took a sample from the camera for the colour.  Open your tube, mirror and paste as a new layer, resize as needed and position inside the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess tube.  Apply the drop shadow to both the frame and the tube layers and lower the opacity of the tube to around 35.

Open your tube again, undo the mirror and paste as a new layer on the top, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-pencil and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, drag down below your main tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-mp3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-camera and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-cord and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-lightbulb, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery.
