About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I have used the art of Elias Chatzoudis.
You need a license to use Elias’ art, they are available here.

Again I am using a kit from the Tech Savvy Collab.
This collab is free with a $10 purchase from the store.
In this tutorial I have used the part by
You will find details of how to get the collab here.

You will also need a mask, I used Weescotslass’ mask 161, here.

Font used is Last Words, a free font, here.

Remember to sharpen your elements after resizing/rotating, for more info, check out my Tips and Tricks page.

Unless otherwise stated, I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 650 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used sb_pmt_tech-savvy-pp4.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask. Resize 95%.

Open sb_pmt_tech-savvy-disk1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, move over a little to the left and apply the drop shadow.

Open sb_pmt_tech-savvy-word art3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open sb_pmt_tech-savvy-ipad1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 85% and rotate 15 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open sb_pmt_tech-savvy-usb2 and paste as a new layer. Resize 70%, drag down below the ipad layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open sb_pmt_tech-savvy-usb cord 2 and pate as a new layer.  Resize 70%, rotate 90 degrees to the right, move up above the ipad layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open sb_pmt_tech-savvy-background 1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, drag right down until it is just above the mask layer and place in position.

Open sb_pmt_tech-savvy-splat1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and rotate 40 degrees to the right, place in position and apply a drop shadow but this time vertical and horizontal 1, opacity 75 and blur 3.

Open sb_pmt_tech-savvy-metal mesh 1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80%, rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow (remember to change the horizontal and vertical back to 2 and the blur to 5).

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are happy, duplicate your tube layer and mirror the duplicate, drag it down so it’s just above the disk layer and place it in position.  Click on the disk to activate it and go to Selections – Select All, Selections Float – Selections De-float. Contract the selection so its just inside the white edge of the disk (if you have kept the resizing the same as I have in the tag, it needs to be contracted by 5), invert the selection, go back to the tube later and hit delete to remove the excess and change the blend mode to “Soft Light”.

Add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
