About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful art of Sharon George.
Sharon very kindly allows her art to be used free of charge.
Please visit her site here and check out her terms of use.
I have uploaded my tube here.

The kit I have used is a gorgeous freebie addon “Savoury Illusions” by PST Designs.
You can get it here (search Savoury Illusions Freebie in the search box,
top left hand corner if you are unable to find it).

You will also need a mask, I used Gem’s mask 22, here.

Remember to sharpen your elements after resizing to take away the blurriness, for more info, check out my Tips and Tricks page.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open the paper pst_si_freebie (2) and rotate left. Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask. Resize 80% and lower the opacity to around 55.

Open the tube, copy and paste it as a new layer, resize 80%, move it up a little and apply the drop shadow.

Open the cluster pst_si_freebie (2) and paste as a new layer.  Resize it 20% and then resize again 80% and place in position.  There is already a drop shadow so no need to add one.

Open pst_si_freebie (6) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 20%, drag down below the cluster, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pst_si_freebie (8) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 20%, drag down below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pst_si_freebie (15), paste as a new layer, bring to the top and paste in position.

Open the word art pst_si_freebie (4) and paste as a new layer.  Resize 18%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positioning of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are happy, export your tag as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.  I would of course love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
