Your Addiction

Your Addiction

In this tutorial I am using the lovely art of Alicia Mujica!
You need a license to use Alicia’s art,
this tube and license are available here.

Scrapkit used is “Your Addiction” by

Unfortunately this kit is no longer available but I have left the
tut up for people that already have it or have a substitute.
You will also need Monti’s circle mask, here.

Font of choice.

You will need to sharpen the elements after resizing/rotating, if you are not familiar with this, check out my Tips and Tricks page.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used tk-youradditional-paper1.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask twice.  Resize 80%.

Open tk-youraddiction-element14 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 63% and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-yourddiction-frame6 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55% and move over slightly to the left.

Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20.  Open one of the dark papers and copy, I used tk-yourddiction-paper5, make a new layer on your canvas below the frame layer and paste the paper into the selection.  Do not deselect.

Open your tube, mirror and paste as a new layer.  Resize as needed and position nicely in the frame, invert the selection, hit delete to remove the excess tube and lower the opacity to around 60.  The frame has a drop layer so no need to add another.  Close off your background, mask and element 14 layers and merge visible, re-open the closed layers.

Undo the mirror on your tube, copy and paste again on your canvas as a new layer.  Resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-youraddiction-element5 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, drag down below the merged layer and place in position around the edge of it on the left hand side, apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-youraddition-element19, paste as a new layer and drag up until it’s just below your main tube layer.  Resize 45% and rotate 15 degrees to the right, place in position at the bottom of the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-youraddiction-element15 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, rotate 90 degrees to the right and flip, place in position on the ribbon and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-youraddiction-element25 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-youraddiction-element2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open tk-youraddiction-element6 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65% and place in position.

Open tk-youraddiction-element4 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are happy, crop your tag and resize if required, add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions you can email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
