About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I am using the amazing art of Screaming Demons.
You need a license to use Screaming’s art,
you can get one here.

I used a great free to use kit called “Zombie Night” by
Purple Kreationz.
You can get the kit here.
Thank you very much!

You will also need a mask, I used Monti’s circle mask, here.

Font is Bloody Stump, here.

Remember to sharpen up those elements after resizing/rotating, check out my Tips and Tricks page if you are not familiar with this.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open PK-ZM-P3 and copy, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 75%.

Open PK-ZN-WIRE and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and apply a drop shadow vertical and horizontal 1, opacity 80, blur 3.

Open PK-ZN-FRAME1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and apply the last drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, mirror, resize as needed and position inside the frame, apply a drop shadow vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 5.

Click on the frame layer to activate it and then click anywhere on the canvas outside the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 1, activate the tube layer and hit delete to remove the excess tube. Change the blend mode on the tube to “screen”.  Do not deselect.

Open PK-ZN-DRIBBLES and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and place in position along the top of frame, again hit delete to remove the excess and apply the last drop shadow.  You can now deselect.

Open your tube again, paste as a new layer and bring to the top, resize as needed, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open PK-ZN-MOON and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, drag down below the tube, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open PK-ZN-CAUTIONSIGN and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open PK-ZN-HAND1 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open PK-ZN-HEART and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open PK-ZN-EYEROSE and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open PK-ZN-FLOWER and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open PK-ZN-CROWS, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow. The very top crow is probably covering your tube's head so take your oblong selection tool and draw a selection around it, hit delete and then right click and “paste as a new layer”, remove the selection.  Drag the crow below the tube and place in position.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments. When you are happy, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.  I would of course love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
