About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I am using the beautiful art of Renee Biertempfel.
You need a license to use Renee’s art.
I purchased mine at CILM but they are now available here.

I am using a fantastic new kit called Spring Fling by
This is an awesome kit packed full with goodies including many Easter elements.
The kit is available full size or tagger size,
I used the tagger size which is available here.
Thank you Jo!

You will also need a mask, I used Insatiable Dreams mask 495, here.

I used Jellyka’s Western Princess font, a free font, here.

Remember to sharpen those elements after resizing to take away the blurriness, check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

Drop shadow used is vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvass 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used CBJSF_Paper13.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, de-select and apply the mask.  Resize 85%.

Open CBJSF_FlowerFrame3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%.  Using your freehand selection tool on point to point, draw a selection around the frame like my screenshot below.

Open your paper again or choose a new one and copy, I used the same paper but mirrored it.  Make a new layer below the frame layer and paste the paper into the selection. De-select and apply the drop shadow to the frame layer.

Open CBJSF_Lights and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, hang the lights on the frame and apply the drop shadow.  Close off your white background and mask layers and merge visible, re-open the closed layers.

Open CBJSF_Plant and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, drag down below the merged layer and position on the left hand side.

Open CBJSF_Grass, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJSF_Daff and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJSF_Mushroom and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJSF_CrocusBulbs and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJSF_Flutter and paste as a new layer.  Resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJSF_Plant2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, flip and rotate 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJSF_SpringFlower2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJSF_SpringFlower3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube, copy and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open CBJSF_Glitter2 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, drag down below the tube layer and position behind her.

Check the positioning of your layers and when you are happy, crop your tag and resize, add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here. I would of course love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
