About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I am using the art of Alicia Mujica.
You need a license to use Alicia’s art, you can get one here.

I am again using the fabulous kit “Secret Garden” by
I love this kit! Thank you Cora.
You can get it here.

You will also need a mask, I used Monti’s circle mask, here.

Font of choice.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing to take away the blurriness it causes (adjust – sharpness – unsharp mask, radius and clipping 5, strength 30).

Drop shadow used is vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 70, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pd12-pp-09.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, de-select and apply the mask twice. Resize 85%.

Open pd12-frame-07 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%.

Open another of the papers and copy, this time I used pd12-pp-03.   Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20.  Make a new layer below the frame layer and paste the paper into the selection, de-select.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame layer and merge down onto the paper layer.

Open pd12-castle and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%, move over to the left a bit and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-plants-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, position over to the right and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-plants-02 and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-plants-04 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position along the bottom of the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-ribbon-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-vine and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube, copy and paste as a new layer, resize as required, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-sparkle and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, drag down below the tube layer and place in position.

Open pd12-flower-05 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, drag down below the ribbon layer and position on the right hand side, apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-flower-overlay-03 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%. Drag right down until its just above the mask layer and position on the left hand side. Duplicate and position on the right hand side.  Apply the drop shadow to each layer.

Check the positions of your layers and when you are happy, crop your tag and resize if required, apply your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.  I would of course love to see your result!
