About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

Memories

In this tutorial I am using the art of Alicia Mujica.
You need a license to use Alicia’s art, you can get one here
(please note, you need to request a license specifically for Alicia’s art).

I am using a freebie kit called “Memories of the Past” by
Schnegge's Scraps.
The kit is part of a blog train and you can get Schnegge’s part here
The kit is available in both full size and tagger's size,
I used the tagger's size.
Thank you Schnegge!

You will also need a mask, I used Melissaz Creationz mask 1, here.

Script font of choice.

**********

Don’t forget to sharpen those elements when you have resized/rotated them otherwise they will be blurry (adjust – sharpen – unsharp mask, radius and clipping 5, strength 30).

Drop shadow used throughout is vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a  new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and floodfill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used paper09_motp_Schnegge.  Make a new layer on your canvas, paste the paper into the selection, de-select and apply the mask. Resize 85%.

Open frame04_motp_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10.

Open paper02_motp_Schnegge and paste as a new layer below the frame layer. Resize 80%, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess paper. Apply the drop shadow to the frame layer.

Open stars_motp_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%, position the stars towards the top, left hand side of the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open collegeblock_motp_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 50% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open corset_motp_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open angelbear_motp_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open books02_motp_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open vanillaflower_motp_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as required, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open notespaper_motp_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open decobottle_motp_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Crop your tag and resize if required, add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here. I would love to see your result and feature it in the gallery!
