About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I am using the art of Angela Newman.
You require a license to use Angela’s art.
I purchased my from AMI but her tubes are now available from

I am using Schnegge's Scraps part of a beautiful collab kit
"Autumn Nights".
Check Schnegge's blog out for the stores in which she sells her kits.

You will also require a mask.
I used Insatiable Dreams mask 211, here.

Font used is Romance Fatal 2,
which is a free font, here.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing/rotating to take away the blurriness (effects – sharpen – unsharp mask – radius and clipping 5, strength 30).

Drop shadow used throughout is vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 7, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used p11_AN_Schnegge. Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, de-select and apply the mask.

Open frame03_AN_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 70%. Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used p11_AN_Schnegge again. Make a new layer below the frame layer and paste the paper into the selection. De-select. Go back to the frame layer and apply the drop shadow.

Open leafes02_AN_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%, drag down below the frame and paper layers and position on the right hand side. Duplicate this layer, mirror and flip the duplicate and position on the left hand side. Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open leafes03_AN_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%, move over a bit to the right and apply the drop shadow.

Open physalis_AN_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Mirror, resize 75%, move over to the left hand side and apply the drop shadow.

Open vine_AN_Schnegge, paste as a new layer and bring to the top. Resize 50%, place in position on the left hand side of the frame. Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the right hand side. Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer. Resize as required, position her so she is coming out of the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open flower07_AN_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 55%, place in position below the bottom part of the vine and apply the drop shadow.

Open flower03_AN_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open decor02_AN_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 45%, drag the layer down below the last flower layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open clock_An_Schnegge, paste as a new layer and bring to the top. Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open bow02_AN_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 40%, place in position on the clock and apply the drop shadow.

Open butterfly03_AN_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 40% and duplicate. Rotate the original butterfly 20 degrees to the left and place in position. Mirror and flip the duplicate and place in position. Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Check the position of all your elements and if you are happy, crop your tag and resize if required. Add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, I would love to see your result and feature it in my tag gallery, please email me here.
