About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I am using the art of Alphadesire.
You require a license to use Alphadesire’s art,
you can get one here.

I am using a freebie kit called “Sovereign Heart” by
Reika Rafita.
You can get the kit here.

Again I am using Monti’s circle mask,
you can it here.

Font I used is Pass the Chex.
This is a free font and you can get it here.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing/rotating to take away the blurriness (effects – sharpen – unsharp mask – radius and clipping 5, strength 50).

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 500 x 500 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open RR_Mask and paste as a new layer. Resize 75% and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Heart1 and paste as a new layer. Resize 70% and mirror, move over to the right and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_SkullCircle and paste as a new layer. Resize 70%, position over the heart and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Crossheartbrad and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%, move over to the left a bit and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Skullheart and paste as a new layer. Resize 90%, rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Feather and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%, mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_HeartSplatter and paste as a new layer. Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Sparkle1 and paste as a new layer. Resize 85%.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer. Resize as required, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open RR_Paper8 and copy. Click on your bottom white layer to activate it, make a new layer, select all and paste the paper into the selection, de-select and apply the mask. Resize 95%.

Open RR_Paper10 and copy. Make a new layer, select all and paste the paper into the selection, de-select and apply the mask. Again resize 95%.

Using a large brush size 100, erase half of each mask layer so you have the red one side and the blue the other side.

Resize your tag if required, apply your copyright information and text then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or with a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have questions, please email me here.
