About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I am using the art of Maxine Gadd.
You require a license to use Maxine’s art,
I bought mine from My PSP Tubes but Maxine
now sells at PSPTubes Emporium.

I used a lovely summery kit called “Summer Lovin” by
Thank you Schnegge!

You will also require a mask. I used Gem’s mask 175,
You can get it here.

Font used is Elfin.

Don’t forget to sharpen your elements after resizing/rotating to take away the blurriness (effects – sharpen – unsharp mask – radius and clipping 5, strength 30).

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 550 by 550 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers from the kit and copy, I used p05_SL_Schnegge. Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, de-select and apply the mask.

Open frame01_SL_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Rotate 90 degrees to the left and resize 90%.  Apply the drop shadow.

Open another of the papers and copy, I used p11_SL_Schnegge.  Back on your canvas, draw an oblong selection through the centre of your frame, make a new layer below the frame layer and paste the paper into the selection, de-select.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer. Resize as required, apply the drop shadow and position her so she is coming out of the frame.

Open leaf01_SL_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 90%, drag down below the frame, tube and paper layers and position on the left hand side, apply the drop shadow.  I toned down the green a little as it was too bright for my tube.

Open leaf02_SL_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 90%, rotate to the left 10 degrees, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open flowerspray_SL_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position the layers on either side of the frame. Apply the drop shadow to each layer.

Open bottle_SL_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Resize 60%, mirror and rotate to the left 15 degrees. Place in position and apply the drop shadow.  (You will need to bring it to the top to place in position and then move it back down again).

Open lamp_SL_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Drag the layer up above the frame layer, resize 90%, mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open fish_SL_Schnegge and paste as a new layer. Bring the layer to the top, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Crop your tag and resize if required, apply your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.
