About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I am using the art of Suzanne Woolcott.
You require a license to use Suzanne’s art,
you can get it here.

I am using a beautiful free scrap kit by Gothic Inspirations
called “Strawberry Wine”
which is part of an awesome blog train.
Be sure to check all the designer’s contributions!

You will also require a mask.
Once again I am using Monti’s circle mask,
you can get it here.

Font used is Mia’s Scribblings
which is a free font.

We will need to sharpen up the elements after we have resized them = adjust – sharpness – unsharp mask, settings radius and clipping 5, strength 30.

Open a new transparent canvas 550 by 500 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open LeavesHeart-GI_StrawberryWine and paste as a new layer. Resize 75%, unsharp mask and apply a drop shadow, vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70, blur 5..

Open Bow2-GI_StrawberryWine and paste as a new layer. Rotate 90 degrees to the right and resize 50%, unsharp mask, apply the same drop shadow as before and place in position on the leaves.

Open Clover-GI_StrawberryWine and paste as a new layer. Resize 55%, unsharp mask, apply the drop shadow and position towards the right hand side on your tag.

Open Flowers-GI_StrawberryWine and paste as a new layer. Resize 45%, unsharp mask, apply the drop shadow and place in position.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer. Resize as required, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Grass-GI_StrawberryWine and paste as a new layer. Resize 35%, unsharp mask, apply the drop shadow and place in position.

Open Butterfly-GI_StrawberryWine and paste as a new layer. Resize 15% and place in position on the right hand side. Duplicate the butterfly, resize 90%, mirror and place in position on the left hand side. Unsharp mask and apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open one of the papers, I used paper 4. Make a new layer above your white background layer, select all, paste the paper into the selection, de-select and apply your mask. I resized my mask 90%.

Open SoftLeaves-GI_StrawberryWine and paste as a new layer. Resize 30%, unsharp mask. Place in position on the left hand side of your tag, duplicate and move the duplicate over to the right hand side. Apply a drop shadow to each layer but change the settings to vertical and horizontal 1, opacity 60, blur 3.

Crop your tag and apply your copyright information and text.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.
