About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I am using the art of Lady Mishka.
You require a license to use Lady Mishka's tubes
which you can purchase from Scraps and the City.

I am also using a fabulous kit Emolicious by
This is an awesome kit just jam packed with goodies,
including 3 awesome bonus cluster frames!

You will also need a mask.
I am using Monti’s circle mask
which you can get here.

I used Bodina Mutant font
which is a free font.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open halftone and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%.

Open mask1 and paste as a new layer. Resize 85% and apply a drop shadow, vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 70, blur 5.

Open frame1 and resize 60%.  Click inside the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 5.  Open one of the papers, I used paper 16. Make a new layer below the frame layer and paste the paper into the selection. Go back to your frame layer and apply the drop shadow.

Open one of the glittersplats and paste as a new layer. Resize 90% and position below the frame and paper layers towards the left hand side. Open another glittersplat, paste and resize as before and position towards the right hand side. Apply your drop shadow to each layer.

Open one of the heartcharms and paste as a new layer. Resize 40%, position on top of the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open one of the bows and paste as a new layer. Resize 30%, mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open one of the cantabs and paste as a new layer. Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow

Open one of the skulls and paste as a new layer. Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer. Resize as required and apply the drop shadow. Position your tube so she is coming out of the frame. Check out my Pirouette tutorial for a neat way to do this.

Open another of the papers, I used paper8. Apply your mask to the paper, copy it and paste it above the white background layer. Resize 70%.

Crop your tag and resize as required, then apply your copyright info and text. Export as a jpeg with compression set to 5.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any problems, please email me here.
