About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I am using the art of Irina Grank.
You require a license to use Irina's tubes
which you can purchase at Mypsptubes.

I am also using a very lovely kit by Pimp’d Designz
called “Into Forever”.

You will also need a mask.
I am using Teresa’s Boundless Bliss grungmask1.
Unfortunately Teresa no longer has her site but
I believe she allows her masks to be shared.
You can get it here

Open a new transparent canvas 650 x 600 pixels, you can resize later. Flood fill with white.

Open pd-pp-02, make a new layer, select all and paste the paper into the selection. De-select and apply your mask.

Open pd-music-sheets and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%, unsharp mask (adjust – sharpness – unsharp mask, settings radius and clipping 50, strength 50). Move the music papers over to the left hand side. Apply a drop shadow vertical 0,  horizontal 5, opacity 50, blur 10.

Open pd-moon and paste as a new layer. Resize 70%. Drag the moon layer below the music sheets layer and position to the right of it as my tag. Apply the same drop shadow as before.

Open pd-wings and paste as a new layer. Rotate to the left by 15 degrees, position and apply your drop shadow.

Open pd-window-frame, click on your top music sheets layer and paste as a new layer. Resize 60% and unsharp mask as before.

Open pd-pp02 again and copy. With your magic wand, select the inside of the windows, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the window frame layer and paste the paper into the selection.  Go back to the window frame layer and apply your drop shadow. Merge the window frames layer with the paper layer.

Open pd-flora-03 and paste as a new layer. Resize by 65% and unsharp mask as before. Drag this layer below the window frames layer, position as in my tag and apply your drop shadow.

Open pd-flora-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 65%, rotate to the right by 70 degrees, unsharp mask as before, place in position and apply your drop shadow. Erase any that is showing at the bottom of the window frame layer.

Open pd-ribbon-03 and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%, rotate to the left 20 degrees, unsharp mask as before, place in position and apply your drop shadow.

Open pd-clock, click on the window frame layer and paste as a new layer. Resize 40%, place in position and apply your drop shadow.

Open pd-doodle-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 60%, mirror and apply a drop shadow, this time vertical 1, horizontal 1, opacity 80, blur 3, drag this layer below the clock layer and position.

Click on the top clock layer and add your tube, resize if necessary, I resized mine by 90%, position and apply the same drop shadow you used on the main elements.

Open pd-light-spots and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%, drag below your tube layer and position.

Open pd-print-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 70%, place in position on the left hand side of your tag, unsharp mask as before but changing the strength to 30, change the blend mode to luminance legacy.

Open pd-sparkle and paste as a new layer. Resize by 80%. Duplicate this mirror and flip it. Drag both layers down until they are just on top of the mask layer and position. Unsharp mask as before and apply a drop shadow, vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 60, blur 5.

Resize if required and add your copyright information and your text.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any problems please email me here.
