About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of
You can purchase Yuriko’s tubes from

I used the kit “Dark Secrets” from
Gothic Inspirations.
This kit is part of a collab with
And
You can purchase Jessica’s part at

I used the freebie animation 319 by Simone at a
(the animation is under Fog).

You will need my mask

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 790 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 4 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask and resize 90%.

Paste Moon, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Cloud, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Tree 2, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Bat, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Meadlow Lawn, resize 79%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Doors, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Necklace, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Leaves, resize 40%, place in position erasing some to shape around the top of the doors and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Grass 1, resize 50% and mirror, drag below the tube, position on the right and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Foliage on the top, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Pent, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Bottle, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Grass 2, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Grass 1 again, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Candle, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Grass 1 again, resize 10%, position just at the base of the candle and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Raven, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers, add your copyright information and text and crop your tag.   If not continuing with the animation, save as png on a transparent background.

ANIMATION:

Starting from the top, close off all the layers down to and including the tube (also include the name if you have put it below the tube as I have) then merge visible.  Close off the merged layer, open the others and again merge visible.

Copy the bottom merged layer and paste it in Animation shop “As a new animation”.  Open  the MNG file of Simone’s animation 319 also in Animation Shop and resize it 60%.  You will see the animation has 21 frames so you need to duplicate your merged layer until it also has 21 frames.

Select all the frames in the animation and copy them, activate your merged layer frames, select all those frames, right click on the first one, “Paste into selected frame” and paste the animation on your merged frames.

Back in Paint Shop, copy the top merged layer, paste it in Animation Shop “As a new animation”, again duplicate it so you  have the 21 frames, then select all the frames and paste it on the tag as you did the animation.

If you look at Simone’s animation, you will see it is running a speed of 17 and the tag is running at 10 so we need to slow it down, to do this, select all the frames again,  go to Animation – Display Properties and change the speed to 17.

When you are done, run your tag through the Optimization Wizard and save as a gif.
