About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the fabulous tube “Black Horse” from
You can purchase the tube at

I used the matched kit “Midnight Poison” from
You can purchase this awesome kit at

I used Halloween mask 1 from

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 700 and fill with white.

Paste the mask and resize it 43%.  Select all, float and defloat the mask, make a new layer and paste paper 21 into the selection, deselect and delete the original black mask layer.

Paste element 77, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 50, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 11 and resize 30%.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below it and paste paper 21 into the selection, deselect, apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and move into position.

Paste element 55, resize 45% and move into position.

Paste element 84, resize 35% and duplicate.  On the original copy apply a white gradient glow or wide white shadow, on the copy apply the black drop shadow then merge the top copy down onto the original and move into position.

Paste element 7, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube, resize 22%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 54, resize 40% and mirror, drag below the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 57, resize 30%, position on the right and apply  the drop shadow.

Paste element 22, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4, resize 18%, duplicate and mirror the copy, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 28, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15, resize 10% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 24, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 65, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 17, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 57 again on the top, resize 30% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 11, resize 7%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 81, resize 60% and apply the drop shadow, place in position erasing any that are too far on the outside of the tag.

Check your layers now and make any adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
