About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the little sweetheart “Oscar” from
You can purchase him from

I used the kit “Summer Whispers” from
You can get this pretty kit from

You will need mask 66 from

You will need Animation Shop if you want to give the
animation a try.

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0,  horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 30 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask and resize 85%.

Paste element 88, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 107, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 64, resize 70% and move into position.

Paste element 61, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 74, resize 30% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 62, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 2 and resize 20%.   Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 5, make a new layer below the frame, paste paper 3 into the selection, deselect, apply the drop shadow to the frame and merge it down onto the paper.

Paste the tube, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 108, resize 35%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 41, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 54, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 99, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 102, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 98, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 93, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 106, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 77, resize 12% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 85, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1, resize 7%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 39, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 35, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 20 on the top, resize 7%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments, then crop  your tag, add your copright information and text and export on a transparent background if you do not wish to have a go at the animation.

Animation:

Duplicate your dog layer and close the original, we will work on this copy.  Open your Warp brush, set the mode to “Push”, the size to 100 and strength to 50.  Put your cursor on the bottom of the dogs nose and push up very, very, very slightly.  If it pushes too much, undo, lower the strength even more and try again.  Now change the mode to Expand” and change the size to 100, put the cursor on the dogs chest and click to expand it slightly.  Both these actions with blur the image a bit so open your Sharpen Brush, change the size to 100 and click once on the on the same place on the dogs nose and chest where you use the warp brush to sharpen them up a bit.

Right click on you tag, copy merged and paste in animation shop as a new animation.  Back in Paint Shop, close off the copy dog and open the original, right click, copy merged again and paste in Animation shop “Before current frame”.  Now change the animation frame properties on the first frame to 180 and on the second frame to 130 to slow the animation down.

Run your tag through the Optimization Wizard and export on a transparent background as a gif.
