About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 850 and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 4 into the selection and apply the mask.

Paste the wordart, resize 75% and rotate 90 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 14, resize 65% and use your pick tool to push in the sides and make it narrower.   Open paper 5 and flip it. Select each section of the element with your magic wand, make a new layer below it and paste the paper into the selection.   Paste the tube, position it in the element, invert the selection and hit delete, deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tube to “Hard Light” and lower the opacity to around 60 and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Paste the tube again, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 17, resize 55%, recolour black, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 23, resize 30% and position on the right, duplicate, resize the duplicate another 90% and position on the left, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 13, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 21, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29, resize 40% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 10 on the top, resize 45% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 30, resize 40% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, resize 40% and mirror, recolour black, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.

Animation:

Starting from the top, close off all your layers down to and including the car and merge the rest visible.  Close off the merged layer, open the other closed ones and again merge visible.

Open Simone’s animation in Animation Shop.  You will see it has 16 frames.  Copy your bottom merged tag layer,  paste it in Animation Shop “As a new animation” and then duplicate it so it also has 16 frames.  Activate the animation and go to Edit – Select all – Edit – Copy, click on the first frame of your tag layer and again go to “Edit – Select all”, right click and “Paste into selected frame” pasting the animation on your tag.  Now in Paint Shop copy the top merged layer of your tag, again paste it in Animation Shop “As a new animation”, duplicate it as before then select and copy all these frames and paste them on your tag.

When you are done, run your tag through the Optimization Wizard and save it as gif.
